  • borealis19 JUST because Chael Sonnen didn't perform well last night doesn't mean he'll be ' smashed" by Silva...I'm sure he'll give the champ a run for his money any day...
The outcome isn't sure. You fans, you had Bisping a 1 to 5 big underdog against Chael and you saw what happened...Your memory is as short as last night's fight...

  • Plexomatic on a side note , Randy and Jone Jones looked extreamly unsettled during this event, i personally think Joe Rogan and buddy guy dude need to host the entire event, these fox guys are to white washed and main stream ....it looses it luster Reply 3 months ago

  • The Woods'' It was only one show dude. You sound like some peeps last week saying Anik is better than Goldie. Your guna base how these people do their job on one night?

With regards to last night of Fox, didnt seem too bad from Randy and Jones, if there was anything unsettling it usually stems from the host and whoever that guy was hosting didnt know bugger all about MMA.

Sometimes takes a while to become a smoother production process. Thats all. Everyone needs to be patient. lol

  • The Woods'' Anderson will probably beat Sonnen. Obviously, the way to try and get close to beating Anderson for Chael is to repeat the same performance he showed against him before without getting submitted.

Apart from that, Chael has doesnt have much more to offer Anderson, and if it definitely happens in Brazil aswell Chaels chances plummit even more.

    That fight spectacle though.

  • cranestyle I am still not convinced that Silva will fight Chael. Dana has said they'll fight, but Anderson's camp has been quiet about it.

Chael didn't look good. He seemed stiff and slow, even compared to when he fought Stann. Mind you, Anderson looked a bit long in the tooth when he returned to training recently.

  • BruceLee I voted Silva.

I'm a Sonnen fan and I have been keen to see the rematch but Anderson is the best figher in the world and Sonnen did not look good last night. He was gassing. IF Sonnen was to win he would have to be at his peak and he certainly wasn't last night.

  • Mike Perryman I agree with you Bruce. You are only as good as your last fight; and based on the performance given by Sonnen last night, Silva would rip him to shreds.
But everyone is entitled to a bad night every so often. And it is better to have a bad night against the likes of a Bisbing than against a beast like Anderson Silva. Hopefully he will look to be closer to the form that put a whooping on Silva for four and a half rounds than the man we saw barely get by Bisbing last night.

  • gm1 Your only good as your last fight...
Silva hasnt looked good in the last almost 2yrs. If anyone has the receipe to beat Silva it is Sonnen. No one has ever moved forward on Silva during a fight except Sonnen. Silva doesnt like that, he likes to be the agressor but it didnt happen with Sonnen. Sonnen lost the same way to Paulo Filo after beating his ass for most of the fight then got submitted in the last round. On the rematch, Sonnen beat his ass the same way the whole fight. Sonnen didnt give Filo a chance to submitt him that time. Sonnen won.

Dont be surprozed if Sonnen comes out against Silva the second time. Silva has alot of skeletons in his head about their last fight. Silva will definitely be remembering his last fight against Sonnen.

  • Nemesis Having a "hater" implies jealousy, so sonnen hates on silva, and noone can hate on sonnen since you can't hate on a hater.

Seems like some people just stopped and got off at "stupid."

  • enjoylife321 Silva will have learnt alot about Chael from the first fight and be able to condition himself well for the next fight. He will know his timing, strength and adapt his training well.

I think Silva is likely to perform better on their next meeting. He will be well rested from any injuries he previously may have had.

Had Chael dominated Bisping, there would have been more excitement for the rematch.

I think everybody knows what we are going to get...either a knockout by silva or ground and pound by sonnen

  • MMAMarco I agree. Although Chael dominated Anderson Silva the first fight, I believe that Silva will make significant anti-wrestling adjustments both with TDD and most importantly getting back up (not unlike Bisping). My guess is that's why he's been delaying Sonnen for as long as possible. In the first fight, when Sonnen took Silva down, Silva was forced to stay down and I'm sure that got into head during the stand-up. Reply 3 months ago

  • jesse so many chael fans blaming his loss on a bad performance. chael only fights one way. he did last night excactly what he does in every fight. when you do the same thing every fight, you cant expect it to work perfectly every time on different oppenents with different skill sets. face it, bisping made chael look bad. • Ivy Chael is the tougher opponent. If he cuts weight earlier so as not to be drained going in he'll get his take downs and walk away with another decision. Anderson does not do well against TD's - and Chael's are the best in MMA. Reply 3 months ago

  • cranestyle FYI, PED like steroids and testosterone aren't a magic wand. They increase how much you can train, but training more isn't always the answer.

Over-training can leave you tired and, if you bulk up too much, slow you down. Kind of like how Chael looked. And I don't think he gassed, because Sonnen already looked tired in round 1.

  • Xavier L Chael won´t beat Silva...albeit, I´d have to see Silva´s conditioning now, I don´t remember off the top of my head when Silva last fought, but I do know I haven´t seen him in the cage for a good time now...hopefully he´s still been training and hasn't taken it as off season. Nonetheless, Chael either tied or lost his last fight against Bisping...and Bisping is not even close to Anderson Silva´s category, although showed very good takedown defense and was able to get up and out of dominant positions. Silva can scramble just as good as anyone else can scramble and stomp a takedown---he´s definitely faster than anyone in the division, this means he could easily get away from anyone at any time...he just doesn´t do it as much because he doesn´t care...he can beat anyone, anywhere.
