Nick Diaz talks UFC 143, wants to see proof of GSP's injury
This weekend, former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz will look to make another step towards capturing the UFC Welterweight title from the hands of Georges St. Pierre, facing Carlos Condit for the Interim belt in the main event of UFC 143. Diaz spoke about his upcoming match-up with "The Natural Born Killer" in Las Vegas, Nevada, and his expectations from a man who has a total of 26 finishes out of 27 career victories on his professional Mixed Martial Arts record. Nick Diaz also spoke about Georges St. Pierre's injury, once again asking for the French-Canadian to provide a proof of his torn ACL.
"They want me to fight Georges, but who knows maybe Georges isn't even hurt. Have anyone seen pictures of his surgery? Because I haven't. I don't know, maybe they are out everywhere and everyone knows about them, but I just haven't. I want to see some photograph or video. I'm not saying Georges isn't hurt or anything, but I don't know, he's fighting already? If I let someone chop my knee open I wouldn't fight next year."

Its interesting to hear Nick say the UFC camera guys and media are coaching him now for his media takes. This seems to have been a big issue for him in the past and now he seems comfortable with it. Reply 3 months ago
He's just trying to get in Georges head. Reply 3 months ago
More true than you know. Reply 3 months ago
Daiz sees this as a hard fight, but I have confidence that he will win. Carlos wonders if Diaz can take all the damage that he is gonna bring.
I wonder if Condit can take the storm that Diaz puts on him!! Reply 3 months ago
Diaz is an excellent striker and hits hard but gets the job done by combinations, as opposed to the one punch finish Carlos owns. And the NBK muay thai skills gives him an element with his feet and knees that Diaz can't match.
I give Diaz the edge in hand speed, endurance and ground game. Condit is in fantastic shape, but Nick will still push his cardio. Diaz strike rate is one of the highest in UFC history.
While Condit will be better at taking Diaz down, once he gets there, it won't go well. Carlos has very good GnP, but he'll be too busy defending against submissions to make it work.
These are two fantastic fighters at the age where their physical abilities are peak. It will be a war, even if it's a brief one.
I think the stand up could go either way, but if Diaz doesn't like the way it is going, he has option of taking it to the ground. If he's not winning the striking battle, taking Nick down won't make things better for Carlos.
Which is why I'm going with Diaz to win by submission. Reply 3 months ago
