Michael Bisping: I'll be looking to KO Miller right from the start

Top Middleweight contender Michael Bisping, who will square off with opposing TUF 14 coach Jason "Mayhem" Miller on Saturday, discusses his opponent, as well as some of the show's more heated moments. Bisping admits that he respects Miller as a fighter, but insists that he'll be looking to knock him out from the very start of their match-up. Photo: Scott Hirano

"The thing is, I respect Jason as a fighter. I know he's been around the block, yeah, he's been around a long time. I don't feel the same (respect) from him, I think he's underestimating me. He made comments on the show, 'Ahh, Bisping's giving grappling coaching!" Mocking that, as if I can't give someone grappling advice. We'll see on the night. He thinks that he's going to take me down and submit me with his eyes closed, as if that's something easy. I've fought numerous black-belts, I train with black-belts on a daily basis. He won't be able to submit me, I guarentee that. ... I want to knock the guy out. People say that I have no knockout power. Miller is tough, he's got a good jaw, and he's durable, so it's not going to be easy, but I'm looking to finish the fight right from the start."

  • Daniel Cassidy Just like in the majority of his fights, "Ole Pillow hands" will be employing a back-stepping jab and looking to earn a slow UD. i just hope Millers Wrestling is up to scratch! Reply 5 months ago

  • jdnextchamp I'm going with Bisping on that one. I think he has much more high level experience and, tell me please, who did Miller beat to be suddenly ranked so high. His record shows he won to Tim Stout (?), and Sakubara (the Gracie killer... who's riding a 4 fight losing streak). If you think the count is overrated well Miller's too right? Reply 5 months ago

  • cranestyle What I'm hearing from BĂsping is that he has no knock-out power and Miller can submit him with his eyes closed.

I don't know about his MMA training but someone needs to school this guy in PR.

  • CageRage64 As much as I can't stand A**Master Bisping he will probably pull off another anti-dramatic decision with his shadow boxing style of bore-us-to-death in and out sparring....

We can only hope that Miller actually tears his arm completely off and ends his career...... finally shutting him the "F" up.
