Josh Koscheck vs. Johny Hendricks set for UFC on FOX 3
When two wrestlers face off inside the Octagon often times what the fans receive is the exact opposite of what they would expect.
The expectation would be that the fans would be in for a technical battle fought on the ground, a glorified NCAA match where the two fighters look to showcase who has the better skills in the discipline that led them to the upper reaches of the mixed martial arts world. Instead what they tend to receive is a stand up battle, where the fighters look to showcase the fact that they are not just one trick ponies that can only wrestle their way to victory.
When the UFC travels to New Jersey for UFC on FOX 3 two of the more decorated wrestlers in the welterweight division will face off, when Josh Koscheck meets Johny Hendricks.
Koscheck is 5-1 in his last six fights, taking home Fight Night Bonuses in three of those six bouts. Hendricks is 12-1 in his MMA career and is coming off a Knockout of the Night performance over Jon Fitch at UFC 141, a win that saw him dispatch Fitch in a mere 12 seconds.
As far as their wrestling credentials are concerned, Koscheck was a four-time NCAA All-American at Edinboro University, while Hendricks was a four-time All-American as well, competing for Oklahoma State University.
What do you think LowKick’ers, is will this be a wrestling match or a slugfest and who will walk away the victor?

I'm leaning toward Kos by decision, but if he performs the way he did against Pierce he will not win. Reply 3 months ago
cant wait KOS is a DOUCHE......and always has been
have never heard an interview were he was a decent guy
and there is no way he can fight like his last fight and get away with it
Hendricks will be all over and Josh always leaves his hands down after 2nd rd and Hendricks by TKO end of 2nd Reply 3 months ago
Fitch grinds out fights and Johnny's intensity I dont think Fitch would of
won would some time of got TKO..ed think Hendricks just moves really fast and keeps moving round after round has power and insane wrestling think he might be headed his way to belt in next 2 fights Reply 3 months ago
Other than that one fight, he has not been facing the same level of competition as Kos throughout his career, and he does not have nearly the same amount of experience or training in standup fighting. Its definitely a stretch to say Hendricks has a better standup game. Its even at best. Yeah, GSP made Kos look bad...but Hendricks is no GSP. Reply 3 months ago
...I'd be willing to pay $500 ppv if Dana can guarantee his dumb ass being smashed by hendricks. When GSP nailed him I just laughed. I hate this bleached brain idiot, he is a complete arrogant knob. Reply 3 months ago
