Chris Lytle is prepared to give Dan Hardy "the fight he deserves"

“When he told me he wanted to fight me, he was very respectful about everything. I understand it’s not necessary for him to go out and make a big statement about this. From what I understand he wants to fight, he wants a good kind of fight, and fight the right kind of way. He thinks I’m going to give it to him and I’m going to...I’ve been there, I know that frustration. I feel like if I do my job, I’ll give him the fight that he deserves and that’s what I plan on doing. So I feel pretty confident he’ll just let it all out there and fight. - For more from Chris Lytle, visit MMAWeekly.com

It appears Chris Lytle is prepared to give "The Outlaw" the fight he's been looking for...

It's no secret that wrestling has long been Dan Hardy's Achilles' heel. In fact, he'll come into this Sunday's UFC on Versus 5 main event on a three-fight losing skid, two of which came as a direct result of being smothered by more proficient grapplers. Though the Brit has recently made changes to his training regimen in hopes of expanding his game, Hardy insists that he still fancies a good slug-fest over a "boring fight."

Then again, Lytle is not the first of Hardy's scheduled opponents to make such promises ahead of their bout. Leading up to UFC Fight Night 24, Anthony "Rumble" Johnson assured fans they'd witness a stand-up war. Instead, Johnson spent the duration of the match-up in top position, ultimately taking a comfortable unanimous decision victory.  So what do you think LowKick'ers? Will Lytle deliver on his word and look to put the Brit's lights out? Or will Hardy once again find himself fighting from his back?

  • Hdownmmma I think Chris is going to give him a fight on the feet and beat him. He could easily win the fight if it went to the ground with his top notch jitsu but I believe him when he says he'll stand and bang. Im pulling for him in this one. Reply 9 months ago

  • colliver is that a serious question? i think lytle would quit mma if holding someone down was how he had to win a fight. not sure if i've ever even seen him shoot for a takedown Reply 9 months ago

  • HunterB Bamma or Strikeforce would be good for him if he does lose... he really needs to work on his anti-wrestling if he truly does not want to evolve as a well rounded fighter. Everyone knows he has 1 punch KO power, but his puzzle has been solved... take him down. Reply 9 months ago

  • mousasi Chris could probably easily get the win via decision or even submission because he is a solid wrester and great on the ground. However, he will stand with Dan Hardy, which is why I'm a huge fan of his. He's has great boxing, but the fight doesn't favor him on the feet because of Hardy's power. Still, good luck Chris. • computerjiujitsubb you have to like this guy.. he could definitely beat hardy on the ground but he's going to stand up and bang with him. he likes putting on exiting fights. in my opinion he will win no matter where the fight goes. i just hope dana doesn't cut him if he loses. win lose or draw he always gives it his all.. he's truly game Reply 9 months ago

  • Six Yes he does always bring it .. but eventually you need to win as well.

If Lytle has a part of his game that is superior to his opponent and purposely does not employ it .. and loses, then he isn't a very smart fighter and should be cut.

  • barochoc Potential to be fight of the year right there. If the two of them are on top form & it stays standing for 3 rounds it will be all out war.

Lytle seems to be respected by all & it's good to see Hardy not trash talking about him. I think that shows how much respect he has for him.

Great to see all comments so far being nothing but respectful too :D

  • terra2805 Lytle has always been a gamer for sure, the guys a grinder man. I'm a big fan of Hardy but i also like Lytle, he's a respectful kind of guy and likes to put on a show. That said i think Hardy needs this win a bit more than he does. If Lytle says he's going to stand and bang there's no reason to disbelieve him, being a boxer he likes to stand and trade, but striking is also Hardys strength, but i'm sure Lytle knows that anyway so this one could get interesting. Both great fighters but i'm pulling for Hardy in this one, he needs a 'W' going to be a great fight regardless......... Reply 9 months ago

  • terra2805 Hardy most definately has not got a "weak" chin, go check some of his pre UFC fights if that's what you think. That was the first time EVER that he has been KO'd, he got caught yes but that's the nature of the sport, when your fighting the best fight after fight. You've seen Couture get KO'd, does that mean he has a "weak" chin?..........exactly. Not dissing you bro but just check out some of old fights @ Cage Warriors or on you tube and you'll see.....: ) Reply 9 months ago

  • cranestyle I think Lytle will keep it standing as long as he's coming out ahead.

However, if Hardy tags him and/or is getting his punches off quicker, my guess is he'll go for the win and put him on his back.

  • MAMBA24ILL It's not like Conduit didn't give him a fight he deserved. He just beat Hardy at his own game.
I really look forward to this match up.
