Mike Bernhard and Ariel Gandulla star in "Rumble at the Rock II Disgrace"

Originally posted by Anton Gurevich on March 10, 2010, 05:35 AM CDT

Probably one of the most embarrassing Mixed Martial Arts moments happened at Rumble at the Rock II event, on March 5th. The referee had to stop the fight and disqualify the 5-5 Ariel Gandulla, who performed some illegal groin and eye-gouging moves on Mike Bernhard.

The real piece of action happened after the referee stopped the fight, when Bernhard and Gandulla tried to fight each other, with some cornermen involved. Finally, the Police entered the cage to calm down the combatants, who embarressed themselves and the sport.

Props to Tom Hill for the Image

  • MMAoracle Yes, he should have stopped the fight, that idiot deliberately poked his eye when he was taken down and layed flat on his back. And THEN, that idiot attacked the other fighters cornermen, (of whom also would probably have beaten him), and then the other fighter obviously interfered.

This wasnt really bad rep for the entire sport, it was ONE idiot. Everyone else acted normal.

  • Murdoc That is a pathetic representation of the best sport on the planet. People complain about Dana white but without him stepping in and buying u.f.c. this would be what we would have to watch. Reply 2 years ago

  • lionkill you do know UFC banned groin strikes and eye gouging long before Zuffa bought it right? it was already illegal in UFC when dan severn was in the cage. pull dana's rod out of your mouth for a second please. Reply 2 years ago

  • Murdoc Sorry bro, just cause Burger king don't pay you enough to buy u.f.c on ppv, you don't have to hate in the man who helped build this sport. Go watch strikefarce and keep pretending you know what your talking about. Reply 2 years ago

  • lionkill lol i buy most every UFC, and sure dana white did alot for MMA in america but you are giving him credit for something that he had nothing to do with, which is a clear sign that you are infatuated with him in a slight homoerotic hero worshipping sort of way.

because dana white is so great, UFC couldn't see the marketing advantage of banning groin and eye attacks, no not without the mighty and mercifull glory that is dana white.

    get off of his rod

  • lionkill actually zuffa didn't even own UFC when UFC was pushing for the creation of the unifed rules of mma, zuffa bought UFC because the company sec that owned it went bankrupt pushing to get the recognized regulations. zuffa's first big contribution to UFC/MMA is getting nevada to be accept the unified rules and legilize events, to get events in Las Vegas. • lionkill "marketing advantage of banning groin and eye attacks," wtf is up, can not you read? or do you just have greek love for dana so hard that you cannot even see entire words? im sorry for picking on your crush, like i said yeah dana has done tons for the sport but he had nothing to do with banning eye gouging and groinstrikes which is what you were praising him for.

i know you will sit here and say "look at this hater" just because you got a fact wrong and can't addmit it to yourself

  • Warcrazed In my opinion, it was only a matter of time before someone's emotions got the best of them and this happened, I mean we've seen some high emotion throughout the ultimate fighter, but I will give those guys credit, they are professionals and they know to keep personal life out of the business aspect. But it was only a matter of time until one guy would intertwine the two. But i still consider mma very respectful even if one joker cant keep it that way Reply 2 years ago
